Steiff - Concept (2004)
We proactively developed a communication concept for Steiffs’ online world of experience. We see the brand as one between tradition, trendiness and timelessness. The design concept combined traditional and modern elements that serve to address a wide target group with a focus group on grown-up customer who live their childhood memories.
Concept & Design
In the year of 2004, we approached the task of creating a pro active online presence for Steiff that should show the history of the brand and an emotional shopping experience. Established navigation click ways should be used. The fancy composition facilitates enough space for a range between tradition, trendiness and timelessness. The key colours yellow and red are placed prominently and are combined with brown (the colour brown stands for trust, warmth, protection and safety).
Actually speaking stuffed animals (“Steifftiere”) address the customer personally as a first-person narrator and so create a friendly atmosphere. The products wake up sleeping protective instincts and by that influence the buying decision.
Clickable Dummy
The clickable flash dummy shows the shortest ways to click through the site as well as all animated components. The animation of stuffed animals in the header of the website is discreet: the deer moves his head, the fox bares his teeth and wobbles his ear, the bee swishes around, and the bear waves his paw! But notice that the Teddy is animated in the shop: he knocks at the pane and addresses us personally.
